At least 50% of it will never be used by me in the real world. I’m going to be a car sales rep, not a rocket scientist!

True dat. I took all the way to calculus 2 in college. A’s in every math class I ever took. Couldn't even get a D now on any calculus test., I'm sure of it. But at least the grades got me a free college education and a good job afterwards

It will, however, enable you to do well in Calc I. So just put your head down and power through.

Except to survive any calc or any college level math, you’re going to want it.

That’s like asking VW to not be financially crippled by dieselgate, or asking Bill Clinton not to fuck the intern.

Automotive business college in Canada simply requires grade 11 and 12 math.

HAVE YOU NOT REALIZED THAT BUSINESS EXISTS DUE TO CALCULUS (Gauß and Stan. Dev.) LEONARD EULER AND HIS WORK WITH THE NUMBER “e”.

Yes, but of what use is most of pre-calc in an automotive retail environment?

Yeah they will accept you since you pass their minimum requirements and got some oppo cred going but then what?
You’re going to have to take Business Calculus and lots of Statistics. Pre-calc is the basics to all of this.
So if you think you’ve met all the requirements for an F1 license(but just that and you skipped Driving Line 101), and you somehow get one and now have a drive, how do you think you’re gonna do?
All of what I have said so far isn’t even the main reason why you should try in this.
You are learning a method of problem solving. You are learning to think in a logical way that is unaffected by emotion.
You are learning how to think efficiently and effectively.

Math skills are a great basis for numerous careers, it’s worth sticking in.. I always hated it but I worked and ended up passing a somewhat math based degree (engineering).

Your argument is flawed because I already think logically and effectively. There’s a reason as to why I’ve decided that my next car will be a minivan.

I’m not acing this, because I require the knowledge of how and why something works before I put it into practice. It’s not enough to just say “it works.” How does it work, and why does it work in the fashion that it does? I’m logical, but curious at the same time. That, and I have an extremely poor short term memory, and absolutely detest long and drawn out processes.

I’m sticking in math until I eventually enter the workforce (after college). I just simply do not see the point in sequencing arithmetic and geometric sequences when less than 2 percent of people use it in the real world, as almost nothing works that way.

I doubt that sequencing arithmetic and geometric sequences will have much use in the real world for me, but I will try.

“I don’t need the key. I just need the door to open. The key has nothing to do with how the door performs it’s functions, and it’s not like I need the key for anything beyond the door. I don’t want to have to get the key, I just want to open the door. Why can’t I just do that?”
